Wild Rose School is a 5013c non-profit that is focused and dedicated to giving opportunities to those that have few. We believe that by learning English, many people in developing countries can improve their lives immensely. Knowledge of the English language is paramount in gaining needed and valuable employment that pays above poverty wages. Knowledge of the English language also opens learning opportunities that might not be available in their native language.
We focus on school-age children to give them an immersive and fun environment to learn and study English. We feel that children who have an opportunity to learn English at a young age will be all the better equipped to further their education and be gainfully employed. This will allow them to break the cycle of poverty in their families.
During the Covid -19 outbreak, we had a chance to delve into other humanitarian opportunities. Food distribution to families suffering from hunger at this time was one of our key focuses. We have also been involved in tuition support for students that are seeking higher education opportunities in Cambodia. We consider any chance to help motivated individuals climb out of poverty to be a blessing and opportunity.
The students of Wild Rose Schools do not pay a tuition cost. We are considered a private school opportunity for our students, but we realize that our students do not have the means to pay for their education. All of our students come from poverty-level homes. To be given acceptance into the school, each family is interviewed and assessed. Only those children of families showing limited means and poverty-level wages are admitted as students. We realize that these hard-working families are doing their best to provide love, teach, and create a stable environment for their families. We are grateful to be able to provide a free educational opportunity to assist them in raising the next generation.
Kakada Rin
Kakada is our local principal at the school. She started the school with some help and is involved daily in the education of its students. A mother of two herself, she loves working with children and training teachers. She has a Bachelor’s degree in education and has received local certification to allow her to teach English in Cambodia. She was an English teacher for 10 years before starting Wild Rose Schools. Since many of our applicants have no experience in teaching English, she will be an integral part of your success. She will work with you to help you develop lesson plans, and create a classroom environment conducive to learning.
Aaron Christensen
Aaron is our director in the USA. He has worked as an entrepreneur and business owner for over 20 years and now he works closely with Wild Rose Schools as a 5013c Charitable Organization. He once owned a business in Cambodia as well, so he is familiar with the country and many of its local customs. Together with Kakada, they have worked to establish and grow Wild Rose School. Both Aaron and Kakada have a passion for helping young students learn as much as they can to help them in life. Aaron will work with you to help prepare you to go on your life-changing semester. When in Cambodia you will also be introduced to some of our local staff members. You will be paired with a Cambodian teacher, in the beginning, to help you to develop lesson plans and learn classroom management. We are committed to your success and look forward to what you can bring to the school!
